SYLVAN HILLS BASEBALL Bears taking a wait and see

An important double header with the Jacksonville Red Devils had to wait.

Cold wet weather postponed what is likely to be for the 5A-Central driver’s seat until Friday, and Sylvan Hills Bears’ head coach Denny Tipton has mixed emotions.

“It’s going to be a little warmer on Friday,” Tipton said.

The team will be 10 days between games, but as long as the weather holds up, Friday will be he beginning of a bit of a murderous stretch.

On Saturday, the Bears take on North Little Rock, a game that was originally slated for Friday followed by games against Benton and Searcy. All of those games aside from a conference trip to Helena-West Helena on Tuesday.

Tipton will go with his ace as usual in Friday’s opener. J.D. Miller has been a consistent starter thus far. Who goes in subsequent outings will be wait and see.

Much like how it’s been with Arkansas weather during the 2013 baseball season.
