Jeffery Reynolds, 34, of North Little Rock was arrested on a charge of shoplifting after Sherwood police were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to a theft in progress. According to a police report filed by Officer Chris Clark said he observed fellow Officer John McGhee talking with Reynolds. Clark stood with Reynolds as contact was made with Wal-Mart employees.
Employee Tracy Bland said she observed Reyolds walking a cart with ten cases of beer out of the store without paying for them, which were valued at $190. The beer was returned to Walmart.
Markia Collins, 20, of Little Rock was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property after police were dispatched to Academy Sports in reference to a shoplifter. Dispatchers advised that the suspect would be a female wearing a red Razorback shirt last seen walking toward On the Border restaurant.
According to a police report filed by Sherwood Officer Dewayne Niles, he found a woman fitting the description standing in front of the restaurant. She was attempting to hide behind a concrete pillar as Niles approached her.
Contact was made with the woman who was later identified as Collins. Police asked Collins if she was a patron of the restaurant and she told them she was and advised she was waiting for a ride. Officers advised her she matched the description of someone who reported had stolen property at Academy Sports. Officers drove her back to Academy Sports and she was identified by Academy Sports personnel.
Employee Javier Valdez said Collins walked out of the store and the merchandise sensor sounded When she was asked to come back inside she continued to walk away and threw the items into a white Dodge Avenger. The driver of the Avenger brought the items back into the store and left Collins in the parking lot. Items shoplifted included a $20 pair of Nike woven shorts, one Adidas seamless bra ($25), resulting in a $45 theft. Store Director Brandy Taylor provided officers with a shoplifting affidavit and a criminal trespass notice for Collins.
Collins was transported to the police department and then was stripped searched per department policy. She was found with some marijuana and a marijuana joint. No other illegal substances were found.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Warden and Lantrip roads in reference to an accident. Contact was made with drivers Antonio Barahona of Sherwood and Leanna Talley of Little Rock. Talley said she had a headache but felt okay and would drive to the hospital if she required it while Barahona said he was not injured.
A total of $250 of damage was done to Talley’s Nissan vehicle while $75 was done to Barahona’s Ford Taurus. Talley said she was stopped at the red light of Brookswood Drive and the entrance of Kohl’s when the other vehicle rear-ended her vehicle.
