Vanessa James, 31, of Cabot was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and careless/prohibited driving after police observed the Ford Fusion he was driving on Indianhead Drive was speeding.
Taja Mitchem, 21, of Little Rock was arrested on charges of DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, speeding, and left of center. The arrest came after police observed him cross the center line on Arkansas 107 in Gravel Ridge.
Christopher Heslep, 41, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, refusal to take a sobriety test, disorderly conduct, driving on a suspended license for DWI, no insurance and speeding. The arrest came after police saw a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed approaching the East Kiehl overpass.
Police were dispatched to Kiehl Avenue at Arkansas 107 in reference to a minor accident which took place on Arkansas 107 where the drivers were Phillip Smith of Sherwood and Terri McMillian of North Little Rock.
Smith said he was driving southbound on Arkansas 107 in the outside lane when he began slowing down as he approached the intersection. He said he was distracted by a sign before colliding with McMillian’s stopped vehicle. Smith’s vehicle sustained $800 in damage while McMillian’s vehicle had $500 of damage. Smith was determined to be at fault for failing to maintain control.
