Oct. 4

Officers responded to 805 Indian Bay in reference to a stolen $45,000 dump truck. Harold Jones of Bauxite, owner of Ed’s Landscaping and Sprinklers, said on Oct. 3 he parked the dump truck in a vacant lot on Madison Lane. He said he received permission to park there. One day later, at 8 a.m., he returned to get his truck and discovered it was gone. The truck is a 2001 Sterling.

Sept. 30

Therese Burton of Sherwood said her homemade trailer was missing from her property located at 1312 W. Keihl Ave. She said the trailer, valued at $500, was taken during the past three months.

Accidents

Oct. 4

Officers responded to the area of Brookswood Drive at the entrance/exit of Links Apartments in reference to a motor vehicle accident where Nicholas Stone of Sherwood said he was stopped in traffic when another vehicle traveling behind him struck the rear of his 2013 Ford Focus. Stone’s vehicle sustained $300 of damage while the other driver, Daniel Bernal, of Jacksonville, who was operating a Chevrolet Blazer, had $100 of damage. Bernal was issued a written citation for following too close.

Sept. 30

Officers were dispatched to Arkansas 107 and Brockington Road in reference to a minor traffic accident involving Ashley Milner of Jacksonville and Carolyn Ahes of Sherwood. Ahes said she was stopped in the northbound/outside lane on Arkansas 107 when she was struck in rear by Milner’s vehicle. Milner said her vehicle slid due to wet conditions. Milner’s vehicle sustained $300 of damage. Milner was issued a citation for not having liability insurance at the time of the accident. She was also determined to be at fault for the accident for failing to maintain control of her vehicle.

Extra Beauty, located in the Indianhead Shopping Center, told police a man tried to give her three counterfeit $20 bills, but she rejected them.
