June 1

Police were dispatched to the corner of Arkansas 107 and North Hills Boulevard in reference to a vehicular accident where Valorie Worthington of Jacksonville was stopped at a red light. She said while at a complete stop a silver Jeep driven by Anna Clark of North Little Rock stuck the rear bumper of her Mercedes 230. Worthington’s vehicle sustained $100 of damage. Clark was found to be at fault for following too close but was not issued a citation.

Yolanda Sweatt of Jacksonville told police she turned right on Trammel Road from Landers Road when a deer jumped in front of her Fiat 500. Sweatt said she hit the deer, causing $700 of damage to the front driver’s side of the car. The deer got up and ran off.

June 2

Officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66 Station on Wildwood Avenue in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Maxwell Garner of North Little Rock who said he was retrieving some jumper cables from his vehicle when another vehicle driven by Margaret Byrd of Jacksonville was backing up in the parking lot and struck him. Byrd got out of her car to check on him and gave him her information and left the location. Garner said he was able to walk and was transported to Baptist Hospital on Springhill Road for further evaluation.

Christal Conway of North Little Rock said she lost control of her Toyota Corolla near the Brockington Road/Arkansas 107 intersection and struck a curb, causing $200 of damage. Police observed wet pavement and what appeared to be minor damage to the front driver’s side wheel of the Corolla. Conway told police her car wouldn’t move and she was concerned there might be more unseen damage. She was issued citations for having expired tags and no proof of insurance.

June 6

Joseph Morant said while he was backing from a parking space located in the south side of the Wal-Mart Supercenter Center parking lot on Arkansas 107 that he struck a parked, unoccupied car with his bumper. Police observed minor damage to the rear bumper of Morant’s 2004 Toyota Sequoia. The unoccupied 2010 Camry SE owned by Lionel McDaniel of North Little Rock had moderate damaging totaling $1,800 to the right front door and right front quarter panel. Morant’s vehicle sustained $500 of damage.

Arrests

June 1

Latari Meredith, 21, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of DWI, refusal to submit to a sobriety test, careless/prohibited driving, no driver’s license, no seat belt, and no proof of insurance after police were dispatched to Arkansas 67/167 Northbound at the Brookswood Flyover to an Alcohol Beverage Control enforcement officer on a traffic stop.

June 4

Kendrick Dunn, 24, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of DWI, driving on a suspended license and driving the wrong way on a one-way street after police saw a Chevrolet Monte Carlo travel northbound on Warden Road and pull into the parking lot of Smokey’s Pub. Police were trying to pull out of the parking area and Dunn’s vehicle drove right in front of an officer’s cruiser.

June 5

Hector Ayala-Gomez, 25, of Fort Smith was arrested on a charge of DWI after police were dispatched to the area of Tailgaters Bar, 8100 Warden Road and Arkansas 107 in reference to an intoxicated driver.
