Sherwood Police Beat



April 5

Sandra Singleton of Jacksonville said she was driving southbound on Brockington Road approaching with East Kiehl Avenue. When she was at the light a vehicle driven by James Lamb of Sherwood struck her Toyota AVA in the rear, causing $500 of damage. Lamb’s vehicle, a Ford Heritage, sustained $500 of damage. Lamb was found to be at fault for the accident but was issued no citations.

Allene Pennington of Sherwood, the driver of a 2002 Buick, and Franklin Bell, of Sherwood, the driver of a 2009 Honda, became involved in motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Oakbrooke Drive at Kiehl Avenue. Pennington said she intended to make a right turn into the Sherwood Oaks Shopping Center parking lot. She missed the turn because she was talking with a passenger in her vehicle. She began backing her vehicle so she could turn into the shopping center and did not notice Bell’s vehicle making a turn into the shopping center. Pennington’s collided with the driver’s side door of Bell’s vehicle. Pennington’s vehicle sustained $600 of damage while Bell’s vehicle had $200 of damage. Pennington was found at fault for the accident for improper backing.

Brenda Walton of Sherwood said she was inside shopping at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on Arkansas 107 when another person, Carolyn Clark, of Sherwood, struck her Mazda 6 vehicle, where it sustained $200 of damage. Clark said she was not aware she struck the other vehicle.

Casey Moix of Sherwood, the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, and David Crotts, of Sherwood, the driver of a 1981 Kawasaki motorcycle, were involved in a collision at the entrance of the Links Apartments off Brockswood Drive. Moix said she drove over the Brookswood flyover, then drove across all lanes and into the apartment complex entrance. Moix said she did not see Crotts’ motorycle traveling northbound on Brookswood. Crotts said he was headed northbound on Brookswood at the flyover intersection when Moix pulled across the road in front of him. Crotts said he locked his brakes and tried to avoid a collision but his motorcycle struck the driver’s side door of Moix’s vehicle. The accident caused his motorcycle to lay down on its right side. Moix was found to be at fault for the accident and was cited for careless/prohibited driving.

Police were dispatched to 211 Brookswood Drive in reference to motor vehicle accident that took place at 4:59 p.m. While investigating, police discovered that Joseph Vance of Sheridan had an active warrant for failure to pay a traffic citation from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office. Vance told police he had a gun under the driver’s seat of his vehicle but he also had a concealed handgun license. Vance’s Honda Accord incurred $4,000 worth of damage due to the accident and was towed away by GT Wrecker.

Montreal Brumfield of Sherwood said that while driving down Brockington Road a deer jumped out in front of his 2006 Nissan Maxima and the deer dented his vehicle, resulting in $800 worth of damage to his vehicle.

April 6

Brad Richison of North Little Rock said he was leaving his mother-in-law’s house on Johnson Drive when he backed into the unoccupied 2006 Audi A4 owned by Jeffery Haubs of Jacksonville. Haub’s vehicle had $700 of damage while Richison’s 2012 Chevrolet Equinox had $200 of damage.


April 6

Christina Henderson, 35, of New Albany, Miss., was arrested on charges of DWI, refusal to submit to a field sobriety test, careless driving and driving with a suspended license after police were dispatched to Rixie Road near East Kiehl Avenue in reference to a reckless driver.

Kevin Scott, 35, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, careless and prohibited driving and driving with a suspended license after police run through a red light on Kiehl Avenue near Ray’s One Stop.

Dustin May, 26, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to 3B Farmar St. in reference to an individual who had been sitting outside of the apartment for some time.

Emmitt Blevins III, 32, of Little Rock was arrested on a charge of DWI after police were called to Arkansas 107 at Kiehl Avenue after receiving a report of a reckless driver.

Stanley Conrad, 22, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to 39 Looper Road in reference to a fight.
