Arrests

Feb. 22

Michael James, 26, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, improper display, no license plate, no seat belt and no proof of insurance.

Thomas Cameron, 25, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of DWI, careless/prohibited driving and no seat belt after police observed the car he was driving on 67/167 go northbound at Wildwood Avenue at an excessive rate of speed. During the same incident, Rikki Collier, 22, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of public intoxication, and possession of a controlled substance possession of drug paraphernalia.

Barbara McCrory, 61, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of shoplifting after police were dispatched to the Dollar General, 1751 Kiehl Ave., in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Police reported she tried to leave the store without paying for a box of Coricidin HBP, valued at $5.95.

Feb. 23

Gordon Weathers of Little Rock was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driver’s license suspended , failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no proof of insurance. The arrest came after police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance at the Links Apartments on East Kiehl Avenue.

Feb. 24

Scott Carpenter, 26, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, disorderly conduct, following too close, careless/prohibited driving, left of center, improper lane change, no turn signal, reckless driving, no seat belt, no proof of insurance, failure to register vehicle, improper use of evidence of registration, failure to pay registration and improper window tint. The arrest came after police observed Carpenter’s vehicle swerving on Warden Road.

Robert Mason, 45, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, DWI refusal, careless/prohibited driving and no seat belt after police were dispatched to Sherwood Way and Warden Road in reference to a vehicle stuck on the curb for about 30 minutes.

Accidents

Feb. 24

Mark Baker of Sherwood said sometime before midnight he struck an unknown object, causing damage to his father’s Nissan Infiniti. The Nissan had extensive damage to the left quarter panel, the left side mirror, front bumper, and hood, totaling $3,500.

Hazel Lawson of Sherwood and Karen Harper of Witchita, Kansas, told police that Harper had opened her driver’s side door and was placing items into her vehicle when Lawson pulled in the parking space beside her 2008 Honda and struck her open door, causing $300 worth of damage.

Incidents

Charles Mastan of Sherwood said a silver Honda Prelude had been parked just west of his home on Miramonte Drive for the past two weeks. The vehicle had been broken down due to transmission problems.
