Arrests

Feb. 1

Robert Mize, 40, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying certain weapons after police observed someone driving northbound on Brockington Road swing wide into the far lane.

Karlos Ice, 22, of North Little Rock was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental procedures after police made contact with him in the Capital Cleaners parking lot on Kiehl Avenue because he had a temporary license plate inside the back window.

Guy Gunnell, 21, of Roe was arrested on a charge of DWI and cited for going left of center and not using a turn signal after police stopped the vehicle he was driving on Landers Road for traveling left of center on the Kiehl Overpass Loop. During the same incident, Eric Maddling, 23, of Cabot was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

Edward Smith, 64, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, carrying certain prohibited weapons, failure to use a turn signal and driving with a suspended license after police observed him driving a Trail Blazer onto Brockington Road off of Kiehl Avenue. The vehicle’s license plate was out and he failed to use a turn signal when he merged into the inside lane of Brockington.

Feb. 2

Aaron Torres, 35, of North Little Rock was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to St. Vincent North, 2201 Wildwood Ave., in reference to an intoxicated person in the lobby next to the emergency room.

Lee Wilson, 48, of Little Rock was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, DWI and possession of drug paraphernalia after police observed a vehicle pull over on Landers Road just north of Wildwood Avenue. Police noticed the vehicle had expired tags.

Keith Lundquist, 39, of Cabot was arrested on charges of DWI and careless/prohibited driving after police saw him driving westbound on East Kiehl Avenue, make a wide turn, and his rear wheels crossed over into the outside lane.

Elliott Rochelle, 26, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to 29 Laramie Drive, Apt. A, in reference to a person trying to get into the residence.

G. Overton, 61, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to the Indianhead Phillips 66 gas station in reference to a drunk driver.

Cary Sims, 50, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of first-degree criminal mischief (D Felony) and criminal trespass after police were dispatched to Sylvan Hills Community Church in reference to someone vandalizing four windows and a recording showing that Sims had broken them.

Angela Mackey, 25, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic battering after police were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Jeremy Ly, 19, of Little Rock was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass after police were dispatched to Golden Lotus Tattoo in reference to an altercation.

Feb. 3

Lemorris Lennon, 27, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped his vehicle on Fra Mar Street because the driver was staring at a police officer instead of looking at the road while he was driving.

Melissa Kelley, 28, of Little Rock was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to Tailgaters in reference to a possible drunk driver leaving the area.

Gary Garnett, 56, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to the intersection of East Kiehl Avenue and Indianhead Drive in reference to an intoxicated man asleep in his vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection.

James McHahan, 39, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of DWI after police observed him cross the lane dividing line into the outside lane on Kiehl Avenue without using a turn signal.

Stephen Pittman, 44, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of DWI after police saw him make a right turn onto Warden Road from Silver Creek Drive at a high rate of speed without coming to a stop at the stop sign.

Feb. 4

Dale Lamotte, 49, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, speeding, no seat belt and improper lane change after police saw him driving 54 mph in a 45 mph zone on Landers road at Kamis Alley.

Accidents

Feb. 2

Cynthia Schweigner of Sherwood said she was pulling into the parking lot at 107 Liquor on Arkansas 107 at West Kiehl Avenue when a white Nissan driven by James Calhoun of Scott backed out of its parking spot and struck her 2000 Toyota Camry. Schweigner’s vehicle sustained $500 of damage while the Nissan had $100 of damage.

Feb. 3

Michael Bickell of North Little Rock said he was facing south on Arkansas 107, attempting to make a left hand turn into the Wendy’s parking lot, when the oncoming traffic waved him through onto the highway. As Bickell made the turn, a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by James Dodd of North Little Rock, headed northbound did not see Bickell’s vehicle and an accident resulted. Bickell’s vehicle had $300 of damage and Dodd’s vehicle had $400 of damage. Bickell was found to be at fault for the accident for failing to yield on a left turn. He was not issued a citation.

Incidents

Feb. 2

Officers were notified by dispatchers that State Police were in pursuit on Highway 67/167 passing the Kiehl Avenue exit with the pursuit ending at 1310 Smithwick Drive. The driver, later identified as Kerry Coleman, of Jacksonville, fled on foot.

Sherwood police returned back to the scene with their K-9 unit and searched the Smithwick apartment area. The police K-9 unit came to one of the apartments, found Coleman from an apartment bedroom and was placed in handcuffs by a state trooper.
