Sherwood police beat
John Mack, 60, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after police were dispatched to his home at 8702 Indianhead Drive to assist a probation officer with an intoxicated person.
Stephen Zahari, 18, of Sherwood was arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic battery after police were dispatched to his home at 1421 Hatcher Road in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Eusebio Aguilar, 45, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of DWI, careless/prohibited driving and driving with a suspended license after police observed someone driving a Honda Accord southbound on Arkansas 107 who was weaving side to side near Hess gas station near Jacksonville Cutoff Road.
Max Russell, 23, of Sherwood was arrested on charges of shoplifting, possession of instrument of crime and third-degree escape after police responded to the EZ Mart in reference to a shoplifter.
Malori Coleman, 25, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) after police received a call from the EZ Mart, 2201 E. Kiehl Ave., after police received a report of a woman who had passed counterfeit bills earlier in the day.
John Via, 46, of North Little Rock was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) after police responded to the call of a suspicious male in the area on the south end of Club Lane.
Domonique Cannon, 25, of North Little Rock was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police observed a vehicle on Lantrip Road at Kiehl Avenue with no working headlights.
Anastasia Gilchrist, 34, of North Little Rock was arrested on a charge of shoplifting after police were called to the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 9053 Arkansas 107, in reference to a shoplifter who was in custody by a loss prevention officer.
Officers were dispatched to the home of Amanda Anderson, 200 Lantrip Road, Apt. 30, at 8:15 p.m. when she told police someone gained access to her residence and stole a $700 47-inch flat screen television and computer hard drives valued at $85. Access was gained by causing $100 worth of damage to an apartment window.
Verna Norman of Sherwood reported she either lost or had stolen her tab off her vehicle license plate. She was stopped by city police for expired tags and was informed by an officer that her tags came back as valid.
Lauren West of Sherwood said two metal chairs worth $40 are now missing from her front porch located at 8416 Oakridge Drive. West told police she noticed them missing at about 6 a.m.
Zachary Hall of Sherwood said he went outside to get into his 2007 Ford F-150 to go to work and noticed his gasoline tank had been drained of its fuel. He had put 13 gallons of gasoline into the tank the prior day. The incident took place outside of his home, the Links Apartments, located at 3446 E. Kiehl Ave., Apt. 4603.
Franklin Trero, 749 Cherrie Ave., told police someone stole his $15,000 2001 flatbed pickup Ford truck outside his residence. He had left the keys in his house, he told police.
Matthew Collins of North Little Rock said his wallet had been stolen in North Little Rock and his credit card was later used at the Kum & Go, 3400 E. Kiehl Ave. in the amount of $55.48.
Derrikk Ray, 406 Taylor Road, said someone broke into his 2010 Nissan KXS pickup truck two nights earlier and again one day later. Items stolen were a $200 pair of Dre Beat headphones, $5 audio cord, $10 in change and $10 in prescription pills.
Kent Gorden of Jacksonville said while his 2002 Chevrolet Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck was parked and unoccupied on the north side of Miller Pointe that it was struck by another vehicle driven by Ruben Camarillo of Conway. Camarillo said he struck the right side of the truck with a trailer that he was towing to a job site on Miller Pointe. Gorden’s pickup truck sustained $1,500 worth of damage.
Crystal McCartney of Beebe said she was backing out of a parking space on the Warden Road side of McDonald’s. She looked both ways in the parking lot and saw no other vehicles. She backed her 1995 Nissan truck out of the parking spot and hit a 2008 Pontiac Solstice operated by Lynda Parks of Sheridan. Parks’ vehicle sustained $1,000 of damage.
Dorothy Thompson of Sherwood said she accidentally struck a vehicle as she was backing out of the driveway of her residence at 614 Verona Ave. She struck a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, which resulted in $500 of damage.
Casey Smith of Sherwood said he was parked in the parking lot near Dollar General in Gravel Ridge when a white Chevrolet truck operated Brian Thompson, address unknown, backed into his Pontiac GrandAm and caused $800 worth of damage.
Wanda Butler said she was trying to circle around Sherwood Beverage, 4099 E. Kiehl Ave., through the alleyway behind the business and stated a tractor trailer was parked there. She thought she had enough room to get around it but ended up getting her 1993 Plymouth Voyager van wedged between the tractor trailer and fence. Her vehicle sustained $150 in damage and the operator of the van Nastase Rivers, who was making a delivery for Golden Eagle of Arkansas, said the trailer sustained $100 of damage.
Louise Porch of Sherwood said he was traveling southbound on Brookswood Drive when the traffic in front of him stopped due to a traffic light on Brookswood. He applied his brakes but was unable to stop before he struck a vehicle in front of him driven by Lawrence Balanda of Sherwood. Balanda’s 20120 GMC Yukon sustained $400 of damage.
Robert Engle of North Little Rock said while he was driving westbound on Country Club Road that he slowed for traffic and was struck in the rear by an unknown motorist driving a dark Honda Accord-type vehicle. Engle’s Volkswagon sustained $100 of damage.
Kevin Anders of Sherwood said his 2007 Toyota Sonoma was sitting in the right turn lane on Brockington Road at the Arkansas 107 intersection waiting for traffic to clear so he could head northbound on the highway. As traffic cleared a vehicle driven behind him by Wade Headrick III of Sherwood struck him, leaving $850 worth of damage to his vehicle. Headrick’s 2004 Chrysler Sebring sustained $900 of damage. No citations were issued but Headrick was found at fault for the accident.
James Roach of North Little Rock said he had turned left out of the Church of the Nazarene parking lot on Brockington Road, not knowing that the street was a divided highway and he did not initially noticing he was driving south in a northbound lane. Another vehicle, a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Dwaine Thomasson of Sherwood entered the parking lot whose vehicle was struck by Roach’s 1999 Buick Century. Roach’s vehicle sustained $400 of damage while Thomasson’s vehicle sustained $300 of damage. Roach was found at fault for the accident for driving on the wrong side of the road and was cited for unsafe driving.
Hope Williams of Sherwood told police she struck another vehicle from behind driven by Chasmin Dudley of Jacksonville and that it was her fault. The accident took place near the Brookswood/Warden Road intersection and resulted in $500 of damage to Williams’ Volkswagon Bug and $200 of damage to Dudley’s Chrysler Concord. Williams was found at fault for the accident for following too close.
Police responded to a private property accident at the EZ Mart on Kiehl Avenue. Officer Mike Stroup said he was about to pull out when he placed the vehicle in park to make a phone call. He felt an impact from the rear and observed a white Buick had backed into his vehicle. Henry Vanpelt of Sherwood said he was backing out of a parking spot and did not see the gold Impala police cruiser, which resulted in the accident.
Kellie Shaw of Sherwood said she was driving southbound on Shadow Oaks Drive, pushed on her brakes but her Toyota Camry did not slow down. She began to gain speed, going downhill and headed up striking the brick mailbox at 105 Shadow Oaks, owned by Leighann Harvey. Shaw’s vehicle sustained $400 of damage. Shaw was found to be at fault for the accident.
Meredith Poland of Sherwood said she exited Walgreens, 8521 Arkansas 107, and noticed there was a dent in the left rear bumper of her Nissan Murano along with some black paint transfer. Damage totaled $300.
