Sherwood’s Jess “Woody” Woods was honored on his 91st birthday by the city that named a street in his honor as well as dedicating a plaque in his honor inside the building he opened in 1976 as Woody’s Sherwood Forest. Mayor Virginia Hillman Young also presented Woody with the Key to the City and a Sherwood commemorative coin. Woody’s wife, Betty, and two children, Bobby and Judy were in attendance, as well as former and current city officials. The event was put on by the current Director of Sherwood Forest, Korey Malloy.
