Water break in Sherwood spews water high into the air

This is a water main break on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at around 7:30 p.m. The break occurred on Coolhurst Avenue near the corner of Calva Road. A man was passing by with his son when he saw a small spew of water bubbling from the ground. When he went to notify the people inside the house, the water burst forward and straight up, lasting for almost four hours before it was finally capped. A crowd of neighbors gathered around and visited for several hours as they watched the Central Arkansas Water cap the flow.
