Tribute to fallen heroes is Saturday

For the ninth year, the Michael Vann Johnson, Jr., American Legion Post No. 74 of North Little Rock will host the Annual Tribute to Fallen Heroes Ceremony on Saturday, March 29. The Ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Forest, 1111 West Maryland, off Arkansas 107 in Sherwood.

This year’s guest speaker is author and Native Arkansan, Walter Carter Tucker.

Tucker served as a United States Navy Submariner during the Korean War as well as a Chaplain during the Vietnam War where he served in the US Army for almost 16 years and later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1981.

Gold Star families are always special guests. This ceremony honors the memory of all American Armed Forces personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in defense of our country as a result of OEF/OIF Operations.

Any and all Rider Groups who would like to be a part of the motorcade are welcome to assemble with Post No. 74 to travel to the event. Coffee and donuts will be served at 7:30 a.m. The motorcade will assemble at Post No. 74 for prayer and line up at 9:15 a.m. The American Legion Riders will lead the Rider groups in the procession. The motorcade will depart at 9:45 a.m..

Any and all active duty, Guard or Reserve branches are welcome.
