Sherwood opens Gravel Ridge police substation

The City of Sherwood recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of its new Gravel Ridge police substation. The opening of the new office takes place about five years after the city of Sherwood annexed Gravel Ridge into its city limits. Sherwood Police Chief James Bedwell said the new substation will be manned with police officers around the clock most of the time in an effort to provide the people of the Gravel Ridge area police protection. First Arkansas Bank and Trust moved out of the building on Arkansas 107, allowing the police department to remodel the building and turn it into a substation.
