Sherwood Fire Fighters Association 4756 is holding the 3rd annual “Tee’d Off at ALS” charity golf tournament. The charity organizations involved are MDA and ALS Arkansas Chapter. It will be Sept. 23 at The Greens at North Hills in Sherwood.
The Union, with the help of the department, has already raised $17,000 through the Fill-The-Boot program this year and is confident the tournament will bring in over $20,000 total for the year. All of the donations are earmarked to help only Arkansas families affected by muscular diseases.
“The Sherwood Fire Department and the Sherwood 4756 would like to thank all the citizens of Sherwood for all the support and donations. We raised an astonishing total of money this year. The three day total was more than we could expect $17,079.34,” reads an association press release. “All of this money goes to the research, treatment, and curing of Muscular Dystrophy.”
Sherwood Firefighter’s Association 4756 is a community-minded non-profit organization. Along with working hand in hand with the Sherwood Fire Board of Commissioners in personnel issues, the Association. also helps in the community by doing charity work nearly year round.
The department had set a goal of a 20 percent increase in donations and called on all the citizens to dig deep in their respective cup holders and give all your extra change.
