Publisher Byron Tate named Jeremy Peppas as the new editor for the Maumelle Monitor and the other weekly newspapers in the Central Arkansas Newspaper group owned by Stephens Media.
Peppas will have direct oversight over the Monitor, The Times of North Little Rock, Jacksonville Patriot and Sherwood Voice.
He will also have some duties with the Cabot Star-Herald, Lonoke Democrat and Carlisle Independent.
Peppas was the interim Editor for the Monitor on two different occasions this past year and previously worked as an award-winning reporter for The Times.
He has also edited the different award-winning magazines and special sections produced by Stephens Media the last three years.
In a nearly 20-year career in the newspaper business, Peppas has worked as a reporter, Editor and Associate Publisher for different publications in Arkansas and around the Southeast. He has also written for or done reporting for McSweeney’s, The Wall Street Journal and The Associated Press, among others.
