Sherwood Chamber monthly membership luncheon set for Nov. 1

The November Membership Luncheon for the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce will begin earlier than usual, at 11:30 a.m., at The Greens at North Hills. The program will be presented by Col. Archie Frye, Commander of the 22 AF Det 1 Air Force Reserve, and Douglas Bowers, Chief of Voluntary Service with the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.

Because this will be a special abbreviated meeting, the chamber will have box lunches catered by Bunkers Bistro. The lunch meeting will be followed by the 1st Annual “A.L.B.A.T.R.O.S.S. Team with a Vet” Golf Tournament downstairs at 12:30 p.m., with proceeds going to help veterans offset the cost of seeking medical treatment and services. People planning to attend are asked to please remember to RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Veterans Day parade planned for Nov. 4

The annual Sherwood Veterans Day Parade is set for Sunday, Nov. 4, beginning at 2 p.m.

Great Arkansas cleanup set for Nov. 10

Nov. 10 is the Sherwood Great Arkansas Cleanup. Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. in the Senior Center then go in teams to cleanup/beautify the community. Helpers will return for lunch thanks to Popeye’s and Two Sisters Catering.

The public is asked to help. Volunteers may wear groups t-shirts with their logos but are asked not to wear election campaign information. Volunteers are asked that the T-shirts be reserved to promote churches, businesses or community-minded organizations.

Anyone can donate a nice door prize or two would be most grateful.

Sherwood Chamber starts Young Professionals group

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce has started a Sherwood Young Professionals group. This group is a networking avenue for young professionals in the Sherwood area to build relationships with other future community leaders. Whether a person is job searching, wanting to promote a business, or looking for business contacts, this organization will help participants achieve these goals in a fun way.

The plan is to do a quarterly networking event to encourage these relationships. This group is new, and the chamber would like more people to help make it a success.

Please contact the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce at 835-7600 for more information.

Keep Sherwood Beautiful Trash Barrels may be purchased
