Business After Hours planned at BJ’s Plants on Oct. 18
The Sherwood Chamber will have its fall Business After Hours on Thursday, October 18, from 5-7 p.m., at BJ’s Plants and Produce. Tickets are $5. The chamber will provide snacks, drinks and lots of fun activities in BJ’s fall flower garden.
Keep Sherwood Beautiful needs volunteers to help with indexing on Oct. 19
Keep Sherwood Beautiful announces it is planning to conduct a community awareness indexing, formerly known as a litter indexing, for 9 a.m. on Oct. 19 with all volunteers gathering at the Bill Harmon Recreation Center.
Betty Barnhart, executive director of Keep Sherwood Beautiful, said the indexing is vital for the organization to maintain its certification with Keep America Beautiful. The indexing will take about one hour, she said.
Little Miss Sherwood Pageant set for Oct. 21
The 10th Annual Little Miss Sherwood Pageant will be held Oct. 21 at Sherwood Forest. There will be a beauty competition and photogenic category for girls ages 0 through 19 years old. Sherwood Chamber starts Young Professionals group
The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce has started a Sherwood Young Professionals group. This group is a networking avenue for young professionals in the Sherwood area to build relationships with other future community leaders. Whether a person is job searching, wanting to promote a business, or looking for business contacts, this organization will help participants achieve these goals in a fun way.
The plan is to do a quarterly networking event to encourage these relationships. This group is new, and the chamber would like more people to help make it a success.

Keep Sherwood Beautiful Trash Barrels may be purchased

Keep Sherwood Beautiful Clean-Up planned for Nov. 10
Keep Sherwood Beautiful will again participate in the Great Arkansas Clean-Up event starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Jack Evans Senior Center, 2301 Thornhill (the west side of the Amy Sanders Library.)
This year will include several beautification projects, as well as specific areas of litter clean-up. A donation from Woodmen of the World will provide a number of trees and bushes to be planted in several Sherwood parks.
As in the past, volunteers will return to the Senior Center for lunch and door prizes.
