On May 1, the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) increased the number of DVDs patrons may checked out to ten DVDs. Also, the checkout period for new release movies will be seven days.
These changes allow patrons to have more DVDs at one time, as well as reduce the amount of time patrons spend on the waiting list for new release movies. New release movies will be identified with a seven-day sticker on the case. Since adding DVDs to items available for checkout, CALS check out policies for audiovisual items have evolved to accommodate the number of items available at the branches and the patrons’ requests for check outs and waiting lists. This latest change will be beneficial from each of those perspectives.
CALS libraries in surrounding communities include: Maumelle Library, 10 Lake Pointe Drive, Maumelle; Esther D. Nixon Library, 703 W. Main Street, Jacksonville; Amy Sanders Library, and 31 Shelby Drive, Sherwood.
