Price cruises to easy win at Meet of Champs

The Lakewood Waves brought another swimming season to a close this past weekend at the Central Arkansas Swim League Meet of Champs.

Lakewood had several individual swimmers put together some good performances. Justice Austin placed in four events for the girls, while Tristan Taylor scored in three events for the boys. Peyton Price only scored in one event, but it was as impressive as anything in the pool that day.

Swimming in the 9-10 platinum division, Price won the backstroke by just under two seconds.

Austin, competing with the 13-14 year-olds, won the bronze back and IM, and finished second in the silver free and bronze fly.

Taylor (9-10) won the gold breast, was second in the silver back and third in the silver free.

Chloe Festervand (G 9-10) won the bronze IM and was second in the free. Sarah Marlin (G 11-12) also gave the Waves eight points by winning the silver fly and finished second in the silver IM.

Emily Marlin (G 13-14) and Laney Deal (G 6-Under) were the other two Waves swimmers to place in multiple events. Marlin was second in the bronze back and third in the silver IM. Deal finished third in the silver free and back.

Aurora King (G 11-12) was impressive in her win, taking the silver breast by a full second. Hayden DePriest (B 15-18) won the silver fly, while Elliot LaBeau (B 11-12) added a win in the silver breast.

Harrison Richmond (B 7-8) took second in the gold back, Caleb Hoskins (B 11-12) was second in the gold free, while Luci Festervand (G 6-under) was second in the silver back. Jalen Waits finished third in the bronze free.

Jonmichal Walker, Luke King, Sydney Plaquet, Josh King and Julie Cmelik also all qualified for the meet and raced for the Waves.
