NORTH LITTLE ROCK SWIMMING | Wet Cats team turned to duo

The North Little Rock Charging Wildcats sent a limited team Thursday evening to the second Cabot Panther Invitational of the swim season.

In fact, there were just two Wildcat swimmers there, but both did well in their respective events.

Caleb Ameling and Matt Brown competed against swimmers from the full teams from Conway, Cabot and Lonoke. Searcy also sent just a pair of swimmers to the meet.

Ameling had a third-place finish in the 100 yard Freestyle and a fourth-place finish in the 50y Freestyle.

Brown also raced in the 50y Freestyle, coming in 12th. Brown’s signature race is the 100y Backstroke, where he finished in second. Brown was just three tenths of a second out of first place.

Conway won the Invitational with 519 points despite Cabot winning nine of the 12 races. Cabot finished with 438 points, while Lonoke had 123 points.
