NORTH LITTLE ROCK SWIMMING | Wet Cats compete at state tournament

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock hosted the state championship swim meet over the weekend, with North Little Rock and Central Arkansas Christian each sending swimmers to the meet.

On the boys side, Caleb Ameling and Josh Hale competed for the Charging Wildcats, along with the Freestyle relay team.

Ameling finished 15th in the 100 yard Backstroke and 21st in the 200y Intermediate Medley. Hale was 15th in the 100y Breaststroke and 16th in the 100y Butterfly.

North Little Rock finished 13th in the 200y Freestyle Relay.

CAC’s Caleb Hathaway had a solid showing in the 50y Freestyle, finishing sixth as the only Mustang swimmer at the meet.

For girls meet, Made Corgill and Kimmie Croson competed for the Lady Charging Wildcats.

Corgill had a top ten finish in the 100y Backstroke, finishing 10th in the race. Croson finished 21st in the 100y Breaststroke.

Bentonville easily won both the boys and girls meets, sending a massive and talented team to each meet. The Lady Tigers won the girls meet by over 200 points over Conway. Pulaski Academy was a close third, while Fayetteville finished just ahead of Cabot.

The Tigers didn’t dominate quite as thoroughly as the Lady Tigers, but still beat Little Rock Central by almost 150 points. Little Rock Catholic finished third.
