CABOT — North Little Rock had a good showing last week at the Panther Invitational with the Wildcats finishing third and the Lady Wildcats coming in fifth in the swim meet featuring close to 200 swimmers.

The boys shower they were one of the elite teams at the meet, with their third place finish almost 100 points better than fourth place Jonesboro. Cabot was second at 340, while Mountain Home was first at 386 points.

The Wildcats had one first place race, but several in the top five. The first place came as a team in the 200y Medley Relay.

Josh Hale looked good in his individual events, taking second in the 200y Freestyle and third in the 100y Butterfly. Caleb Ameling had a second place finish in the 100y Backstroke and fifth in the 50y Free.

In the 200y Free, Adam Koenis finished 8th. Matt Brown took fourth in the 200y IM and was second in the 100y Breaststroke. Cam Connor finished eighth in the 50y Free and sixth in the 100y Free. Lee Smothers was third in the 500y Free and another third in the 100y Backstroke.

The Wildcats finished fifth in the 400y Freestyle Relay.

The Lady Wildcats didn’t have a first place in any event, but placed in the top ten in almost every race.

Madi Cougill finished fourth in the 100y Backstroke and fifth in the 200y IM. Kimmie Croson took fifth in the 100y Breaststroke and eighth in the 50y Freestyle.

Carson Burns was sixth in the 100y Butterfly and eighth in the 200y Freestyle, Rachel Ferguson finished second in the 1m Dive and Allison Stuff finished ninth in the 500y Freestyle. The team finished fourth in the 200y Medley Relay, third in the 200y Freestyle Relay and seventh in the 400y Freestyle Relay.
