The North Little Rock Lady Charging Wildcats may have regressed back in time a little bit. Their schedule like nearly all teams in the area has been impeded from their schedule by weather.
Games against Marion and Jonesboro have been postponed. April 8 will be the makeup date for the Marion contest, but the Jonesboro game is still to be determined.
Head coach Anthony Cantrell is making the most of time, but does have a bit of concern.
“We are hitting inside, and throwing bullpens,” Cantrell said.
Weather has affected North Little Rock’s nonconference schedule as well. North Little Rock’s game against Greenbrier is in jeopardy as well.
“They texted me and said they may have to make up one of their conference games,” Sandefur said.
Cantrell said that the concern he has lies more with his hitters than pitchers
“Pitchers can throw bullpen,” Cantrell said. “Hitters have a harder time getting their timing back.”
The evidentiary proof was shown on Thursday in an 8-3 loss to Beebe.
“We didn’t play well in any facet,” Cantrell said.
The Lady Badgers jumped out in the first inning with three runs, two of which were unearned after a pair of fielding errors that put runners on. Beebe emptied the bases with a three-run homerun.
“It just kind of snowballed from there,” Cantrell said. “We can’t make errors against good teams. Beebe is a good team.”
The schedule will resume next week and Cantrell said he would love to see some.
