It turned out to be the Camryn McDaniel show in North Little Rock on Tuesday night.
The 5-9 junior forward scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Lady Charging Wildcats to a 53-44 win over Central Arkansas Christian.
“It was an ugly win,” North Little Rock coach Darryl Fimple said. “Nice to know we can play ugly and still win like that. Neither team could hit a shot.”
McDaniel did in the waning moments of the fourth quarter. With North Little Rock up only three she hit a deep triple that sparked a trend of three straight possessions where she hit from beyond the arc. McDaniel is a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range.
“We got to get her going early,” Fimple said. “She’s been the hero in the last couple games.”
North Little Rock is coming off three straight wins in the Heavenly Hoops Tournament at Mt. St. Mary’s running their record to a perfect 4-0 to start the season. They beat Sylvan Hills, Cabot and Star City in the championship game on Saturday.
Now the competition gets tougher as they travel to a couple of national tournaments, the first being in Murfreesboro next week.
