NORTH LITTLE ROCK FOOTBALL | Cats proclaim, ‘just do it,’ ink deal with Nike

The North Little Rock football program has achieved a first. The Charging Wildcats are partnering with a giant in the athletic shoe and apparel industry.

Nike has announced a multi-year partnership that places the North Little Rock Charging Wildcats football program as the first and only Nike Elite Program in the state of Arkansas.

“We wanted to partner with North Little Rock because of their commitment to bringing a first-class product to the gridiron in Arkansas. The growing accomplishments of Coach Brad Bolding, his staff and players make the Charging Wildcats one of the premier football programs in the state of Arkansas,” Nike Representative Kelly Wylie said in a press release last week.

North Little Rock coach Brad Bolding’s feeling were very brief and to the point.

“It’s a big deal,” he said.

The high school Elite program is similar to how Nike sponsors college football programs. There are only 16 national Nike Elite Football Teams in the United States.

Bolding began the conversion to Nike over a year ago.

“Our school’s motto is World Class,” Bolding said. “To have North Little Rock Football partner with such a great company pushes us to the next level. For Nike to consider North Little Rock Football as one of the best in the state and a program that is on the rise nationally is incredible for our school and community.”

Bolding added in an interview that the immediate impact will be that of the $42,000 spent on uniforms this season, not one dime comes from the school district.

The new uniforms will arrive at the beginning of July.
