CAC rallies to beat Maumelle

Central Arkansas Christian came from behind to beat Maumelle, 60-55, on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the 4A State Tournament at Cave City.

The victory puts the Lady Mustangs into Thursday’s quarterfinals where they will face Valley View, the No. 1 seed from the East Region at 7 p.m.

CAC is now 25-8 on the season and should the Lady Mustangs win again, they would play at Noon on Saturday in the first semifinal.

The Lady Mustangs were led by Sydnie Jones and Falan Miller who, respectively, scored 27 and 19 points.

Maumelle tried to stage a comeback themselves in the fourth quarter, only to lose by 5. The Lady Hornets were led by Kamry Orr’s 17 points.
