Zelma James

Zelma Huckabee James, 93, of Heber Springs died Monday, May 27, 2013. She was born Dec. 8, 1919 in Poughkeepsie. She was a resident of Southridge Village in Heber Springs and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Olan James; parents, Sam and Audrey Huckabee; brothers, Floyd Nolen, Kenneth and Sam Huckabee, Jr.; and sister, Mary Bell Huckabee.

Survivors include sister, Erma Ripley and husband Rip of North Little Rock; sons, David Holmes and wife Lois of Indiana, and Mike Freeman and wife Sharon of Cabot; daughters, Evalena Squires and Mary Luckey both of Quitman; grandchildren, Kim Parker, Shannon Cox, Tommy Armstrong, Lisa Lovin, Sandra Holmes, James Dalton and Justin Freeman; great-grandchildren, Zach Lovin, Lacey Lovin and Sebastian Holmes; and her nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Friday, May 31 at Forest Hills Memorial Park with her Grandson James Dalton officiating.
