William James “Bill” Piper, 83, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He was born May 8, 1929, in Crabtree, to George A. and Maudie Mae Autry Piper. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Staff Sergeant and the U.S. Post Office as a Mail Handler. He was a world traveler while in the Army Air Corps, then the U. S. Air Force and he was a graduate of Clinton High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Eunice Harvey.
Survivors include sons, Dan Piper of Little Rock and William Jakob Piper of Germany; daughter, Irene Piper Cross of Little Rock; sister, Helen Williams of Copan, Okla.; brother, “Johnny” John Piper of San Francisco.; his honorary daughter, Leeta Elliott and husband David of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Lindsie, Logan and Leanna Ellis and Hannah, Sarah, Jonathan, Rebekah and Rachel Elliott; and a special companion, Jean Piper Sibert.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 30 at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock.
