Virginia Rogers

Virginia Lee (Gaines) Rogers of North Little Rock and died Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was born June 22, 1920, in Griffithville, to F.S. and Carolee (Sego) Gaines.

She graduated from Griffithville High School where she was valedictorian and attended Arkansas State University at Beebe. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock where she served as past President of the U.M.W. “The Faith In Action” Circle and Ambassador Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.W. Rogers; son, R.F. “Buddy” Rogers; sister, Frances Carroll; brother, Raymond Gaines; and son-in-law, Don Trickey.

Survivors include daughters, Ginger Smith and husband Bill of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Vivian Trickey Smith and husband Alan of Conway; son, Steve Rogers and wife Margie of Hot Springs Village; sister, Marion O’Donell of Beebe; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A life celebration was held Tuesday, May 14 at The First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock.
