Stephen E. Schubert, Sr., 93, of North Little Rock and formerly of Hot Springs died, Thursday, October 25, 2012. He was born Nov. 8, 1918 in Big Spring, Texas to George H. Johnson and Lydia A. Keating.
He was valedictorian at Cathedral High in El Paso, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked for the government during World War II at Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Arkansas Inspection and Rating Bureau and retired from Weyerhaeuser Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Jeanne Long Schubert (the mother of his children), Inez Varner Schubert, Jeanne Box Schubert and Wanda Harper Schubert; and brother, George H. Keating.
Survivors include sister, Frances Means of El Paso, Texas; sons, Stephen E. Schubert, Jr. and wife Cathy, Eric C. Schubert and wife Jane; and daughter, Karen L. Wolfe and husband Ken; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 11 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
