Nora Penn

Nora Penn, 90, of North Little Rock began a new life in Heaven Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She was born to James and Elta Ferguson in Wheatley on Feb. 20, 1924.

After graduating for high school she entered Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock to become a Registered Nurse. Since then, she has worked in numerous hospitals, retiring for the Veteran Hospital in North Little Rock in 1994. Nora is an active member of Park Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School in the single and adult department for three years. She was in charge of the Caring Center at Park Hill Church for approximate three years.

After her husband Luther Penn died, she was employed as a “Greeter” for Wal-Mart store in Levy for two years leaving due to health reasons.

Nora is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and two brother-in-laws.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Stephen Foster and his fiancée, Cheri Bullock of North Little Rock; one grandson, Spencer Foster of McPherson, Kan.; three sisters, three nieces, four nephews; one brother-in-law and a host of cousin, family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 30 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock. Dr. Ken Shaddox officiated. Entombment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
