Melba Munnerlyn

Melba Munnerlyn, 87, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, April 10, 2013. She was born November 23, 1925, in Georgiana, Ala. to Emmett and Estelle McClure Byrd, as one of eight children. She attended school in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School.

She was active in community affairs, including North Little Rock Junior League, Lakewood United Methodist Church, Salvation Army, National Homebuilders Association Women’s Council, Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, and Babalou. She was honored as North Little Rock Citizen of the Year and Salvation Army Volunteer of the Year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, “Rip” Munnerlyn; brothers, Roland, Gerald and John Donald Byrd; and sisters, Bernice Noakes Richards, Pearl Daly, and Inez Varner Schubert.

Survivors include brother, Robert L. “Bob” Byrd and wife Colleen of North Little Rock; daughters, Donna Bosley and husband Bill of Benton and Christie White and husband Moreland of Osceola; grandchildren, Chip Bosley and wife Jennifer, Brennan Bosley and wife Keri, and Elizabeth White; and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Dillon, Haley and Savannah Bosley.

A memorial service was held on Monday, April 15 at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock.
