Madie Rhoads

Madie Evelyn Tolliver Rhoads, 95, died Monday, May 6, 2013. She arrived in this world Jan. 31, 1918, in North Little Rock. She was a member of Levy Baptist Church. She retired from the North Little Rock School District and was an active member of the Arkansas Teacher’s Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Aria Tolliver; brother, Delphia Tolliver; her husband and love of her life, Dorris L. “Dusty” Rhoads; infant daughter, Sandra Kay Rhoads; and grandson, Thomas Lee Rhoads.

Survivors include sons, Bill Rhoads and wife GeorgeAnn and Rodger Rhoads and wife Jan; granddaughters, Cookie Brown and husband Bruce, Jennifer Rhoads; grandson, Brooks Rhoads and wife Elizabeth; granddaughter-in-law, Renee Rhoads; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Martha Jean Rhoads; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special and wonderful friends.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday at Levy Baptist Church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday at the church.
