Leonard Bauman

Leonard Louis Bauman (Nookie), 90, died Sunday, June 30, 2013. He was born April 6, 1923 to Louis and Hazel Bauman in North Little Rock.

He was a retired police Captain for the North Little Rock Police Department and a life long resident of North Little Rock and the Baring Cross neighbor. He was a devout Catholic and a life long member of St. Mary’s Church at 15th and Parker Street in North Little Rock.

He was a War World II veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard from 1942-1946 aboard the attack transport APA13, U.S.S. Joseph T. Dickman and U.S.S. LST 156 as a GM3/C in the South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda June Bauman; sisters, Kathryn Butler and Thereasa Berry; brother, Charles Bauman; grandson, Scott Bauman; and granddaughter, Tammy Belcher.

Survivors include son, Lennie Bauman and wife Dorothy; daughter, Yvonne Harris and husband Billy Ray; grandson, Mike Bauman; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hardwick Ammons; great-grandsons, Anthony, Brady, Lucas; great-granddaughter, Kellye; and great-great-grandson, Boston; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Wednesday, July 3, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
