Kathy Renee’ Burris Lenzen, 51, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. She was a longtime advertising account executive for the Cabot Star-Herald, Lonoke Democrat, Carlisle Independent and Jacksonville Patriot. She recently left the newspapers after 13 years, returning to work for Dillard’s, where she worked for 14 years during her professional career.

Lenzen was born December 1, 1961 in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Carl and Shirley Bright Burris. Kathy graduated from DeQueen High School and the University of Arkansas. Kathy loved her family, animals and spending time at the lake. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents.

Survivors are her parents, Carl and Shirley Burris of Texarkana; daughter, Brittany Grace Beltrani of Conway; her special friend, Gary McMillan of Cabot; sisters, Pam Casteel and her husband Monty of Texarkana and Terry Mozingo and her husband Mike of Darlington, S.C.; her father and mother-in-law, Mike and Brenda Beltrani; nieces, Casey Roark and her husband Roman and their children Rowe and Ryder of Fayetteville and Kelly Wilkerson of Darlington, S.C.; nephew, Garrett Parker of Hartsville, S.C.; and a host of cousins.

Lenzen’s coverage area as a sales representative with the newspapers started with Jacksonville and Lonoke then moved to Carlisle in 2008. She also covered some of Cabot.

“My customers are the reason I stay here and do this,” Lenzen said last November. “I love the people in this community, especially Lonoke and Carlisle. It’s really a home town feeling and laid back over there.”

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, beginning at 10 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or a local animal shelter.
