James Thompson

James Terral Thompson, 88, of Sherwood died Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He was born in Des Arc, on March 12, 1925.

He was employed by Arkansas Power & Light/Entergy for 38 years and by ARKLA for 5 years. He enjoyed many leadership positions including Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in the Philippines. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church, a Mason and a member of American MENSA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wils and Reesie Thompson; brothers, Vernon and (Helen) and Howell (Bobbie) Thompson, and a sister, Alby (Leon) Ferguson.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Matheny Thompson; daughters, Christy Cotten and husband Marty of Nashville and Terri Fulton and husband Gary of Dallas; and grandchildren, Stephen and Misty Cotten.

A graveside service was held at Saturday, April 6 at 16th Section Cemetery in Austin.
