Emma McClain

Emma Gertsch Sumrall McClain, 99, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. Emma was born in Interlaken, Switzerland to the late Carl Louis and Marianna Függi Gertsch.

She was Preceded in death by her parents; husbands George A Sumrall, Jr. and Charles M. McClain Sr; her son, George A. Sumrall III, daughter, Billie Sumrall Bebler; several brothers and sisters.

Emma was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also member of the Altar Guild. Emma retired as a LPM for MoPac Hospital. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to Polka, play cards, and to travel.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. Sumrall and wife, Marilyn of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; two grandsons, Mark R. Sumrall and wife Kathleen M. of Austin, Texas and Adam T. Sumrall and wife McKenzie B. of Dallas; one great grandson William M. Sumrall of Austin, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Friday, May 23 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock. Interment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight, May 22.
