David Crockett

David Lavere Gale Crockett, 80, died Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Johnson County, Ill. to Charles and Gladys Robinette Crockett.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and then embarked on a teaching career. From 1989 to 1998 he served as organist and choir director at Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock, and from 1998 to the present, as organist for the St. John the Baptist Latin Mass Community and St. Patrick Church, both in North Little Rock. He is a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Carol Siemon; his twin brother, Dr. H. Dale Crockett of Fort Myers; son, Larry Gavin Crockett of Murphysboro, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a step-daughter and a step-son.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in Vienna, Ill.

The family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 505 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
