Sheriff’s Office warns of phone scam

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving several phone calls from individuals advising that they have received a call from a “Lt. Allen” with the Sheriff’s Office, according a news release issued by the Sheriff’s Department.

“Lt. Allen” tells the individual they have an outstanding fine that needs to be paid over the phone by debit or credit.

This is a scam,” states the release. “We do not have a ‘Lt. Allen’ and we do not collect fines (the court does). We do not take credit or debit cards for any of the services we offer. I repeat. This is a scam.”
