PAL haunted house set to begin Friday

The North Little Rock Police Athletic League is sponsoring a fund-raising haunted house this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, then Oct. 26 and 27, and 29 and 30: from 7-11 p.m. at 204 East 4th St.

This year’s Halloween fundraising haunted house event is called “Fear on Fourth St.”

Admission is $8 and all proceeds and donations from this event benefit will benefit PAL.

Anyone interested in dressing up in a Halloween costume and volunteering on any of these nights should show up at 4th and Poplar two hours before the event is set to begin and organizers will find volunteers a spot and costume.

“We are trying to spread the word around the Central Arkansas area and tell others about our ‘Fear on Fourth St.’ Halloween project,” said Bobby Spriggs, with PAL. “This is a fundraising event for our non-profit organization.”

In 2012, PAL had over 400 players sign up to play baseball, over 200 signed up to play football, over 70 for cheerleading, 30 for tennis, and over 50 children participated in our Taekwondo program —- all free of charge, according to Spriggs.

The league provides the players the uniforms and equipment they need to play, and they also maintain 11 ball fields at three North Little Rock parks. PAL has spent over $30,000 in player equipment and programs this year and $15,000 in insurance and other expenses.

Spriggs said the haunted house is a once a year fundraising event for PAL. PAL is a non-profit organization that provides sports, and other services, to children at no cost.
