North Little Rock honors two retiring officers with retirement party

North Little Rock Chief Mike Davis and the North Little Rock Police Department on March 28 honored retiring officers Captain Donnie Bridges and Lieutenant Jerry Smith.

Their retirement was honored in the form of a ceremony held at the Police and Fire Training facility, according to Sgt. Brian Dedrick, public information officer for the North Little Rock Police Department.

“Bridges was hired on Sept. 3, 1973, and has spent the vast majority of his career in the Investigations Division,” said Dedrick. “However, Captain Bridges, during his 38-year career, has spent some part of his career in nearly every division and unit at the police department including patrol, investigations, Criminal Intelligence Unit, Professional Development and Professional Standards.”

Smith was hired on March 5, 1985.

Commenting on Smith’s years of service, Dedrick said, he “has spent a vast majority of his time in the Patrol Division, along with serving in Narcotics, Patrol Administration and the Investigations Division.”
