The North Little Rock High School Speech, Drama and Dance Department announces its spring musical, “Shrek the Musical.”

This is the first time that “Shrek” has been performed in a school setting in Arkansas. The public performances will start at 7 p.m. today and Friday and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. A Sunday matinee will start at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. For more information, call 771-8127.

The cast and crew of over 200 students are all responsible for the success of “Shrek the Musical.” The technical theater students helped design and build the sets, are running the lights/sound, as well as manage all technical aspects of the production. The student directors/choreographers have assisted the production staff in all rehearsals/performances.

The costume/makeup students are helping to design and create the costume and makeup effects.
