Pulaski Tech opens registration for fall semester

Pulaski Technical College has opened registration for new students for the fall 2013 semester through Aug. 15. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 19.

Fall registration began earlier this year due to changes in the college’s admission policies. Beginning this year, all students who have never attended college are required to meet minimum reading scores on the ACT or COMPASS assessment.

Students who do not meet the minimum scores to be admitted will be referred to resources on campus or in the community to improve their skills and be prepared to take the COMPASS again.

The college offers an online COMPASS preparation course to any student. Also, all new students will be required to complete an online student orientation.

New students should complete an online application to the college and submit all required admission documents before Aug. 7, including high school transcripts and college transcripts before registering.

Students can register in the Campus Center on Pulaski Tech’s main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock or at the Little Rock-South site at 13000 Interstate 30.

The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

First-time college students must apply and submit all required admissions documents by Aug. 7 in order to enroll for the fall term, and can schedule an appointment with an academic advisor for assistance with course selection and registration from June to Aug. 15. Transfer and other students will also schedule advising appointments after all required admissions documents have been submitted. Day and evening appointments are available at both the Main campus in North Little Rock and at Little Rock-South.

Students registering must have submitted a signed financial aid award letter, paid in full or established a payment plan by the end of registration on Aug. 15 to secure their registration.
