PCYS offers free college program to prepare for ACT exam

Pulaski County Youth Services (PCYS) announces that it is now accepting applications for its upcoming, six-Saturday ACT Prep course that beings on Nov. 2. This program has served over 2,000 students since 2006 and PCYS is pleased to be able to offer this beneficial program at no cost to Pulaski County tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students. The schedule is as follows:

Nov. 2- Full-length, timed practice ACT exam;

Nov. 9 – English;

Nov. 16 – Math;

Nov. 23 – Reading;

Dec. 7- Science Reasoning;

All applicants must submit a completed application, a letter of recommendation, a one-page essay on their future career and educational goals, and a copy of their most previous ACT score if they have taken the test before.

Parents of students who are accepted into this program must attend an orientation on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Each participant will receive a copy of “The Real ACT Prep Guide” and PCYS will pay the $35 for them to take the Dec. 14 ACT exam.

The deadline to apply for this program is Friday at 4:30 p.m.; applications must be submitted by mail or in person. No faxed or emailed applications will be accepted.
