North Little Fire Department receives $4,000 grant

Lindsey Williams, state fire marshal; and Charles Butler of the Arkansas Fire Academy were on hand when the city of North Little Rock received a $4,000 grant bestowed upon the North Little Rock Fire Marshal’s Office for Fire Prevention and Education programs, including Kids Fire Academy put on twice during each summer and fire education materials to hand out during visits to day cares, churches, schools and other functions. Arkansas ranks second in the nation for fire deaths. The NLR Fire Marshal’s Office wants to change that through education efforts. This grant money will purchase much needed materials to help spread the fire safety message.
