Local residents can help Moore tornado victims

The North Fire Department is a drop-off location for items being donated to the residents of Moore, Okla. The department is currently coordinating efforts with Brother Ron Lindsey at Suburban Baptist Church in Moore. Donations are coming in and will be taken through Saturday. However, there are some specific items needed desperately by the residents:

— Trash Bags (Heavy Duty)…Lots of Trash Bags;

— Laundry Detergent;

— Toiletries (Shampoo, Soap, Razors, Shaving Cream; Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, etc.)

— Feminine Products;

— Baby Diapers, Wipes, Baby Food, Formula and Baby Clothes;

— Work Gloves.

Cash and Checks are accepted. Make checks payable to: Suburban Baptist Church in Moore, Okla., and designate “Moore Relief.”

The department has been told people do not need children’s or adult clothing.

A group of firefighters will be traveling to Moore to work in the recovery so they may come back with an idea of other needs. They will be taking all donations to Moore on behalf of the City of North Little Rock after the June 8 deadline. The recovery for the residents of Moore will be a lengthy one and city employees are wanting to help those in need.
