Investigation continues in death of Samantha Olson

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of Samantha Cass Olson of North Little Rock who died Wednesday night, Aug. 14.

According to North Little Rock police spokesperson Sgt. Brian Dedrick, Olson was traveling eastbound on McCain near the intersection of John F. Kennedy boulevards when someone in a truck coming from the opposite direction fired more than one shot at her vehicle.

Olson was transported to UAMS where she later died.

The infant in Olson’s vehicle was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The child did not have any apparent injuries and is now with the father.

Dedrick said police shut down that section of McCain after the incident.

Police are continuing to look for someone who was driving a maroon Ford F-150 with tinted windows, chrome wheels and possibly a tool box. Anyone having information should call 680-8439, said the police department.
