The Central Arkansas Chapter of the American Diabetes Association is hosting its annual fundraising gala and Celebrity Kiss-A-Pig Event. The live and silent auction event will be held on Oct. 26 at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock.
There will be a VIP Martini reception at 6 p.m. and doors will open to everyone at 6:30 p.m. It will be an exciting evening with candidates vying for their chance to kiss a pig, the first source of life-saving insulin. This year’s candidates are KATV Daybreak anchor Alyson Courtney, Antwan Phillips, an attorney with Wright Lindsey & Jennings, LLP, Danny Joe Crofford, a former radio personality and current Marketing and Events Coordinator for War Memorial Stadium, Family and General Practitioner Harold Betton, M.D. with the Betton Clinic, and Rusty Mathis, General Manager with Ben E. Keith.
This year’s Honorary Chair will be Dr. Morgan Sauer with St. Vincent Health System.
National Baseball Hall of Famer and St. Louis Cardinal Legend, Lou Brock returns as guest speaker for this year’s event. Brock is a native of El Dorado.
This year’s Cure Care Commitment Award will be presented to Conway Regional Health System – Diabetes Management Program.
