Cynthia Elaine Roberts and Robert Lee Rorie exchanged wedding vows Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville; Reverend Lowell Grisham officiated.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a strapless Allure Couture gown of ivory and silver matte duchess satin with a sweetheart neckline and fitted dropped waist bodice adorned with lace appliqué, embroidery, pearls, sequins, beads, and crystals. The deep V at the back of the dress extended to a cathedral train and featured covered buttons and bead clusters. The custom design also featured a full bouffant skirt with a beaded hem and a French bustle. A cathedral length mantilla veil of illusion embroidered with a band of lace and beading, silver and crystal earrings, and ivory and silver slippers completed her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of white, orange, and coral roses, orange lilies, and greenery wrapped in ivory and diamond ribbon.
The bride’s attendants were matrons of honor Erin Richardson of Raleigh, N.C., and Drew Keller of North Little Rock; bridesmaids, Sara Floyd of Fayetteville, Sara Topham of Fort Worth, Texas, Kaylie Bishop and Katherine McGraw, both of Little Rock, and Olivia Caldwell, cousin of the bride, of Nashville, Tenn.
The attendants wore floor length cantaloupe colored, one-shoulder chiffon gowns featuring empire waists with nude slipper. The flower girl, Natalie, wore an ivory tea-length Cinderella Couture dress with a rosette-covered bodice overlaying a skirt of glitter tulle and ivory Mary Janes. They carried bouquets mirroring the bride’s own.
The groom’s attendants were best man Amon Pendergist of Carlisle; groomsmen, Nicholas Roberts, brother of the bride, of Fayetteville, Adam Nichols of Marion, Dr. Kirk Turnbo of Maumelle, Dr. Mike Hammel, also of Fayetteville, Shawn Richardson of Raleigh, N.C., and Dr. Will Keller of North Little Rock. Patrick served as ring-bearer. Ushers were Colin and Connor Caldwell of Nashville, Tenn., Derek and Sean Clarkson of Little Rock, and Charlie Roberts of Sherwood, all cousins of the bride.
Colin Caldwell and Charlie Roberts also served as acolytes.
Charlie Grigsby was the organist.
The Fayetteville Elks Lodge, decorated with white linen and florals of orange tiger lilies, white and coral lilies and white and coral roses, was the venue for the reception immediately following the wedding. Music was provided by the Big ‘Uns.
The bride is the daughter of Cynthia and Michael Roberts of Fayetteville, the granddaughter of Billy Ray Caldwell of Jonesboro, Peggy Douthit of Panama City, Fla., Greta Sue Roberts of Sherwood and the late C.E. Roberts. She is a 2004 graduate of Cabot High School, 2008 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in poultry science.
The prospective groom is the son of Debbie Tanner of Cabot and Kent Rorie of Maumelle. He is the grandson of Sue Prince of Cabot and the late Robert Prince and the late Helen and Allie Rorie, formerly of Yellville. He is a 2002 graduate of Cabot High School, 2007 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in crop, soil, and environmental science and a minor in pest management and a 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a master’s degree in crop, soil, and environmental with an emphasis on crop physiology. He is employed with DuPont Pioneer as a senior research associate in Marion.
The couple traveled to Ireland for a week following their wedding and returned to their home in Marion.
