Jill Kathleen Ploszay and Nathan Lee Harrod exchanged wedding vows at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Sherwood. Minister Jason Daniel officiated and Paul Barber served as Communion Minister
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory A-line gown of lace over satin with cap sleeves and a V-neck. The gown was embellished with beading and pearls and featured a beaded belt at the empire waist. She wore an ivory fingertip-length wedding veil with beaded embroidery and carried a bouquet of deep burgundy roses.
Rebecca Montgomery of Rison served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Joy Ploszay of North Little Rock, and Ha Vuong of Fort Smith. They wore knee-length dresses of ivory satin with a black lace overlay and sheer quarter-length sleeves and carried ivory roses.
Best man was Jason Harrod of Springdale, twin brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Daniel Harrod of Rochester, Minn., brother of the groom, and Brian Porter of Hot Springs, friend of the groom.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Millie and John Montgomery of Rison
Pianist, Karen Harris and soloist, Amy White, provided music.
Ed Montgomery and Michael Harrod seated guests.
The ceremony was performed against a backdrop of roman style pillars decorated with burgundy tulle and green ferns. The aisle was decorated with white bows and burgundy tulle.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall with music by Graeme Higgins, brother-in-law of the groom.
Kim Wallace, Hope Little, Amy Williams, Christa Brown, Kristen Graddy, Shima Patel, and Michelle Mason assisted with the event.
The bride is the daughter of Johnny and Janie Ploszay of North Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of the late Granville and Mildred Pearce formerly of North Little Rock; and Eleanor Ploszay and the late Steve Ploszay of Lincoln, Neb.
She is a graduate of North Little Rock High School and is a Cum Laude graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She is American Chemical Society Certified and holds a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical and is Board Certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She is a practicing pharmacist and an Ambassador with the UAMS College of Pharmacy.
The groom is the son of Bruce and Audrey Harrod of Springdale and the grandson of Charles and Marilyn Matthews of Hot Springs; Wanda Ottinger of Mount Ida, and the late Robert Harrod, formerly of Malvern.
He is a graduate of Fountain Lake High school in Hot Springs and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Computer Science from Henderson State University. He is a Cisco Certified Network Professional and is employed as a Network Analyst at Windstream Communications.
After a wedding trip to Kiawah Island on the outskirts of Charleston, S.C. the couple will reside in Little Rock.
